Award Winning Designer, Nim Sira, is renowned for her natural creative flair for all elements of design. The British-born creative had desires to pursue a career in design since a young age. With unconditional offers into establishments to study A-levels, Nim chose to specialise solely in Art & Design. Receiving much acclaim and exceptional results brought it even further to her attention that THIS was her forte.
Since qualifying with a Distinction, Nim was secured a place at University to study a BA Hons in Printed Textiles and Decoration. Her amazing talent to adapt to various genres of design effortlessly meant that she could perform excellently in all aspects of the design field. Whilst in her final academic year, Nim designed a selection of printed garments for a private viewing held in the Raphael Gallery of the Victoria & Albert Museum in honor to their exhibition, Radical Fashion. The final piece went on display at the New Designer's Exhibition held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, resulting in a nomination for the 2002 New Designer of the Year Award.
Having qualified with only 2 marks of a First, it was still uncertain to which genre to specify in. Clever design and construction for outstanding pieces throughout her course, led Sira to be head hunted by an international brand manufacturing handbags. Working closely with the designer allowed her to assist with the new collection that was then launched at Paris Fashion Week in 2003.
As time went on, Nim developed a passion for interior design and decided to study this further. The intense Diploma course covered all aspects to interior design, broadening her existing vast skills. A quick grasp for this subject enabled one particular design scheme to win an award and resulted in a feature of the 2005 House & Garden Magazine. On qualifying with a distinction, she was further rewarded by Cole & Son for Outstanding History of Style Compendium and a nomination from Candy & Candy for Contemporary and Innovative Interior Design Award. With an array of credits to her name, it was not long before several elite establishments approached Nim to join their design team.
On joining a London based design agency straight in as Head Interior Designer, Nim worked on high-profile projects enabling her to gain further experience within the design world. Working within a company that specialised in sourcing materials for any application within all industries of design, she gained an extensive knowledge on innovative materials and implemented them. These were widely heralded.
In March 2008, she decided to freelance, consulting for Installations, Visual Communication & Property Development. With a fast growing response to her accomplishments, she launched Sira Concepts in Feb 2010, an international design establishment providing specialist advice, direction and intelligence to an extensive range of clients including Corporate, Fashion, Beauty and Music.
